Welcome to LACEC Laboratory for Cell Culture and Analysis (Laboratório de Cultivo e Análise Celular da ETS/UFPB) Our Lab focuses on the connection between Research , Development and Innovation (R&D&I) and Educational activities . LACEC was created in 2012 by the Escola Técnica de Saúde da UFPB Education Center (ETS/UFPB). Since then, it has been serving as a place for knowledge exchange: a connecting center for students from undergraduate/technician level to post-doc fellows. We work in collaboration with some partners worldwide attempting to better understand the immunological and genetic factors involved in the pathogenesis of infectious and chronic and degenerative diseases. Our strategy is to work with the communities living in endemic areas for tropical diseases in the Northeastern Brazil as well as with patients attending Regional Reference Hospitals. Our latest research interest is the evaluation of the immunomodulatory effects of nanostructured material
